The company is now hiring for the position of Cargo Agent – Import Operations. This role is perfect for candidates who have previous experience in logistics and cargo handling and are eager to be part of a dynamic, team-oriented work environment.
Job Purpose
As a Cargo Agent, you will support cargo operations by performing various tasks involved in the acceptance, delivery, documentation, build-up, breakdown, and handling of import cargo. You will ensure that all activities meet dnata’s quality and safety standards while providing efficient and timely service at every stage of cargo movement.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all departmental instructions, policies, and standard operating procedures to ensure smooth workflow.
- Support daily cargo operations with efficiency and professionalism.
- Identify and report safety concerns to supervisors and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Assist and guide loaders and equipment operators to ensure proper cargo handling procedures are followed.
- Count and verify cargo during acceptance, build-up, breakdown, and delivery, ensuring accuracy at every step.
- Enter cargo information into the system accurately and on time.
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities such as Customs, Health, Municipality, and Police to ensure the smooth clearance and movement of cargo.
- Handle specialized cargo including dangerous goods, live animals, and valuable shipments in compliance with IATA standards.
- Operate cargo handling equipment such as forklifts and tow trucks when required.
- Load and unload cargo from aircrafts, ULDs, and trucks as per the operational timelines.
Candidate Requirements
To qualify for this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Minimum education level of O-Level (10 years of schooling) or Higher Secondary certification.
- At least 2 years of experience in cargo or logistics operations.
- Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken).
- Valid UAE or GCC license to operate cargo equipment.
