Emirates SkyCargo, the airfreight division of Emirates and the world’s largest international cargo airline, is hiring for the role of Cargo Handling Supervisor – Operational Safety in Dubai. Job Purpose
The Cargo Handling Supervisor is responsible for planning, supervising, and monitoring day-to-day operational and safety functions within Emirates SkyCargo’s hub operations, terminals, and ramp areas. The role ensures service compliance, effective manpower planning, and adherence to safety and security standards while maintaining optimal space utilization and on-time flight performance.
The position also oversees 24×7 operational coordination, ensuring seamless communication across shifts, monitoring RFS network control, and managing invoices, reports, and safety compliance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and supervise cargo, courier, and mail operations to ensure timely completion and service quality.
- Oversee manpower allocation, task distribution, and shift handovers to maintain continuous workflow.
- Manage and coordinate daily operational requirements between cargo terminals and ramp teams.
- Conduct safety campaigns, risk assessments, and safety awareness sessions across network stations.
- Support the Safety Department by reviewing open risks, collecting evidence, and ensuring timely closure of pending actions.
- Maintain and analyze operational safety dashboards and performance trends for management reporting.
- Prepare accurate safety action group and safety board papers for senior management reviews.
- Ensure adherence to company safety, operational, and quality standards at all times.
- Oversee RFS network operations for smooth regional freight movement and coordination.
- Verify invoices, control expenditure, and prepare daily and weekly cost reports.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: 12 years of Schooling or equivalent qualification.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in the aviation or air cargo industry.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of aviation safety, operations, and cargo handling.
- Expertise in Dangerous Goods (DG), Live Animals (AVI), ULD handling, and GDP compliance.
- Experience in analyzing operational incidents and identifying trends.
- Knowledge of air cargo rating, load planning, and inventory control.
- UAE driving license (preferred).
- Completion of advanced cargo or safety courses is an advantage.
