About the Role
The Cashier – Sports Retail will play a vital role in ensuring customers receive excellent service while maximizing sales opportunities. This position involves managing transactions, maintaining price accuracy, assisting customers with product queries, and ensuring the security of the cash till and store assets. Core Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring all product prices are regularly updated in the system.
- Counting cash at the end of the day after the last customer has been served.
- Ensuring proper handling of currencies, including correct denominations and rates.
- Performing security checks for credit cards, cheques, or suspicious currency when required.
- Removing security tags from purchased items and preparing them for customer collection.
- Informing customers about available gift vouchers, promotions, and store offers.
- Taking full responsibility for the security of your designated till and the valuables within it.
- Providing accurate pricing information and answering customer inquiries promptly.
- Counting cash at the beginning of each shift to verify starting amounts and available change.
- Completing all till closing procedures at the end of trading hours.
