Job Purpose
The Chief Driver position is vital to maintaining dnata’s reputation for operational excellence. The role involves efficiently allocating loaders and drivers to ensure that dnata’s commitments to customer airlines are met promptly and professionally. With Dubai International Airport being one of the busiest aviation hubs in the world, this position demands leadership, coordination, and precision under pressure.
The Chief Driver will be responsible for overseeing daily transport and handling operations, ensuring that every team member is deployed effectively to meet flight schedules and operational requirements. This includes handling multiple flights simultaneously and maintaining strict adherence to safety and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficient Allocation: Assign loaders and drivers to specific aircraft based on flight schedules, load requirements, and operational priorities.
- Team Supervision: Monitor staff attendance, performance, and adherence to dnata’s operational standards.
- Operational Coordination: Liaise closely with team leaders to reallocate drivers in the event of flight delays or disruptions, ensuring smooth continuity of operations.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee fuel management for all operational vehicles, ensuring petrol and diesel are filled as required.
- Equipment Handling: Coordinate with the Engineering Department for timely dispatch and servicing of ground support equipment.
- Discipline & Leadership: Manage a large workforce, maintaining discipline, teamwork, and efficiency under high-pressure conditions.
Qualifications & Experience
To be eligible for this role, candidates must possess:
- Completion of 10 years of schooling or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year driving experience, with a sound understanding of airside operations.
- Knowledge of Arabic or Hindi is advantageous, enhancing communication with a diverse workforce.
- Familiarity with ramp areas at Dubai International Airport.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with multi-functional teams.
- A valid RTA CAT 3 Light Vehicle License.
