Role Summary

The Store Associate is a non-management role that supports various operational functions within the store, including the Central Cash Office, Receiving, Commercial, and Customer Service. This position requires someone who can multitask efficiently, maintain an organized environment, and ensure that shelves and warehouse stock are clean, presentable, and aligned with the National Plan-o-gram.

As a representative of the store, the Store Associate plays an important part in ensuring that customers always find the products they need, displayed neatly and correctly priced. Additionally, the role requires assisting different departments as needed to maintain smooth store operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Store Associate will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the receiving team by checking, receiving, and displaying incoming products.
  • Maintaining high standards in product presentation through correct labeling, clear pricing, and proper shelf arrangement.
  • Controlling and optimizing section margin levels, minimizing shrinkage, and managing waste effectively.
  • Replenishing shelves, ensuring all products meet the required quality, quantity, and aesthetic standards.
  • Assisting customers with product inquiries and responding quickly to their needs to enhance sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Identifying slow-moving or aging stock, prioritizing items nearing expiry (if applicable).
  • Supporting the Central Cashier Office by helping at the cash counter, scanning and packaging purchased items when needed.
  • Following all hygiene and safety regulations in both the store and warehouse as required by local authorities.

This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to react quickly to customer needs in a dynamic retail setting.

Requirements

To qualify for the Store Associate role, candidates should have:

  • A Diploma in Business Management or Administration (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Good spoken English and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Between 1 to 3 years of commercial experience in retail or similar industries.
  • The ability to multitask and function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability to work in a multicultural workplace with team members from diverse backgrounds.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office is an added advantage.
