Job Context and Work Environment
The Store Keeper works within the W&D Division, which manages nearly 1,150 food and non-food items. These items support airline catering facilities and Food Point operations. The division is structured into three main sections:
- Main Stores, responsible for stock control and daily operations
- Airlines Stores, handling bonded stores and equipment storage
- Aweer Stores, supporting extended warehouse and logistics functions
The Store Keeper assists the Stores Supervisor to ensure effective operational control across all daily W&D activities.
Principal Accountabilities
The Store Keeper is responsible for maintaining accuracy, quality, and efficiency across warehouse operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring received goods meet quality, quantity, hygiene, and expiry specifications
- Maintaining appropriate stock levels based on operational requirements
- Issuing items accurately against approved departmental requisitions
- Supplying ad hoc departmental requirements on time and as specified
- Controlling petty cash and ensuring proper accounting documentation
- Storing food items in designated areas while maintaining hygiene standards
- Minimizing exposure to unacceptable temperature and humidity conditions
- Reviewing purchase requisitions and forwarding them for supervisor approval
- Maintaining proper documentation for all receipt and issuance transactions
- Applying first-in, first-out procedures to reduce wastage
- Supervising staff performance and monitoring shift schedules
