Job Overview

The GSE Driver reports directly to the GSE Supervisor and plays a vital role in daily ground operations. The position involves operating light vehicles, buses, heavy equipment, and utility vehicles to support aircraft maintenance activities. All tasks must be carried out in full compliance with airport regulations, company policies, and international aviation safety standards.

This role is well suited for candidates with hands-on aviation experience who are comfortable working in rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.


Key Responsibilities

The Ground Support Equipment Driver is responsible for a wide range of operational and safety-related duties, including:

  • Transporting aircraft parts from warehouses to engineers and technicians on time
  • Delivering and collecting serviceable and unserviceable parts and GSE
  • Ensuring all aircraft components are properly tagged, labeled, and documented
  • Maintaining vehicles in a clean, safe, and roadworthy condition
  • Securing parts and equipment during transportation
  • Conducting daily vehicle inspections and reporting faults immediately
  • Supporting Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention around aircraft bays
  • Transporting engineers and technicians between technical facilities
  • Following all safety, quality, and security procedures at all times

In addition, the GSE Driver is expected to complete accurate records, participate in safety reporting, and assist with ad-hoc operational requirements when required.


Safety & Compliance

Safety is a core responsibility in this role. The GSE Driver must:

  • Use approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times
  • Follow Etihad’s Safety and Quality Management Manual (SQMM)
  • Maintain valid certifications such as First Aid, Fire Warden, IPAF, and Human Factors
  • Actively report hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions to promote a strong safety culture

Education & Experience Requirements

Candidates applying for this role should meet the following criteria:

  • Valid UAE driving license (light or heavy vehicle) held for a minimum of 2 years
  • At least 5 years of aviation experience, including 2 years in a GSE or operations driver role
  • Strong English communication skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent qualification
  • IPAF certification and PPE training
  • Ability to work under pressure in shifts, nights, and weekends
