UAE 🇦🇪 JOB INTERVIEW TIPS
1. The “Ready” Kit
Carry a professional folder containing:
- 3–5 printed copies of your CV (Use a clean, one-column “Dubai format” including your nationality and visa status).
- Passport/Visa copies.
- Passport-sized photos (white background).
2. Dress & Appearance
- Conservative is key. Dress formally: suit and tie for men, modest business attire (covering shoulders and knees) for women. First impressions are formal in the UAE.
3. Etiquette & Behavior
- The Right Hand Rule: Always use your right hand to shake hands, hand over documents, or receive business cards.
- Punctuality: Arrive 15 minutes early. In the UAE, traffic is never an accepted excuse for being late.
- Build Rapport: Do not rush to business. If the interviewer starts with small talk about your background or life in the UAE, engage warmly—this is a standard part of the process.
4. Your Edge
- Highlight Languages: If you speak Arabic, English, or other regional languages (like Hindi, Urdu, or Malayalam), make sure to emphasize this early on; it is a major asset in the UAE market.
Good luck! You’ve got this.
