Stock Issuance and Control

The role involves issuing food items and consumables to kitchen and service areas based on approved requisitions. Every issue must be recorded accurately, and daily stock movement logs must be maintained. The Storekeeper is also responsible for monitoring par stock levels and informing the Store Manager when reordering is required.

Documentation and Reporting

Accurate documentation is essential. The Storekeeper must maintain updated stock cards or ERP system entries and prepare daily, weekly, or monthly inventory reports as required. Participation in periodic stock counts and reconciliation with system records is also part of the role.

Food Safety and Hygiene

Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across all storage areas is mandatory. The Storekeeper must monitor and record temperature logs for cold rooms and freezers daily and follow pest control, waste disposal, and cleaning schedules in line with HACCP or ISO 22000 requirements.

Coordination and Teamwork

The Storekeeper works closely with kitchen, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure smooth material flow. This includes assisting with loading and unloading deliveries, verifying shipment accuracy, and cooperating with auditors or inspectors during internal and external audits.
