Job Purpose
The primary responsibility of the Chief Driver is to ensure the effective allocation and management of Loader/Drivers to meet dnata’s commitments to its customer airlines. Allocation is conducted through the Resource Management System (RMS) to ensure smooth aircraft handling operations. This role is essential to maintaining efficiency, safety, and operational continuity within the airside environment.
The Chief Driver works closely with team leaders and operational staff to manage personnel, schedules, and equipment, especially during flight disruptions or peak operational periods.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, the Chief Driver will be expected to:
- Allocate Loader/Drivers for aircraft handling based on load, flight number, and scheduled departure time
- Monitor staff time and attendance to ensure operational readiness
- Control and manage large groups of personnel while maintaining discipline and professionalism
- Liaise continuously with Team Leaders to adjust driver allocations during flight delays or disruptions
- Assign drivers during free periods to refuel vehicles with petrol or diesel
- Dispatch vehicles and equipment to the Engineering Department for servicing and maintenance
This role requires strong coordination skills, situational awareness, and the ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced airport environment.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for the Chief Driver position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of schooling or equivalent qualification
- At least one year of driving experience with a good understanding of airside operations
- Knowledge of Arabic or Hindi is an advantage
- Familiarity with all ramp areas at Dubai International Airport
- Strong communication skills and the ability to convey instructions clearly
