About the Role
The General Cashier / Paymaster is responsible for managing cash transactions, maintaining financial records, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with company policies and standard operating procedures. This role plays a vital part in safeguarding company assets and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify figures, postings, and financial documents for accuracy
- Maintain cash, petty cash, cashier banks, and financial records
- Perform period-end closing procedures and prepare reports
- Audit cashier banks according to standard operating procedures
- Record and investigate cash variances
- Act as a liaison with banks and armored car services
- Support internal, external, and regulatory audits
- Classify and summarize financial data using accounting systems
- Ensure confidentiality and protection of financial information
