Role Overview

As a Junior Accountant within the Revenue Recognition and Interline team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing revenue transactions, and supporting interline accounting processes. Key Responsibilities

Revenue Processing & Accounting

  • Perform fare and refund audits, update master data, and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Assist in pre- and post-closing accounting procedures and support supervisors with ad-hoc assignments.

Discrepancy Resolution

  • Identify discrepancies in fare construction, taxes, yield, and proration; resolve issues by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong preventive and detective controls to ensure error-free reporting.

Passenger Revenue Tasks

  • Amend fare construction strings in line with IATA rules.
  • Handle proration exceptions in RAPID, including validating journey destinations and processing related queries.
  • Manage tax exceptions, compute sector-wise taxes, and ensure accurate collection and reporting.
  • Conduct yield and fare checks to validate system-generated prorate values.

Interline & Accounting Reconciliation

  • Reconcile Sales, Interline, and Revenue clearing accounts regularly.
  • Generate accounting entries for provisions, accruals, reversals, and exchange differences.
  • Prepare invoices, billing memos, credit notes, and audit inbound billing documentation.
  • Raise rejections and resolve issues as per cost centre instructions.

Qualifications & Skills Required

To be eligible for this role, candidates must have:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Finance or Insurance Accounts.
  • A strong finance or accounting background.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and multitasking abilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of fares, ticketing, or IATA qualifications.
  • Experience with Global Distribution Systems (GDS).
  • Background in fare revenue protection, refund processing, or revenue audits.
