Role Overview
In this leadership position, you will take on independent decision-making responsibilities while guiding and motivating frontline teams to deliver consistently high-quality airport services. You will ensure all operations comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), EKAS goals, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Emirates’ safety and security standards.
A key part of your role will be supporting, mentoring, and developing team members, especially new starters, while ensuring real-time deployment of staff in designated operational areas. Your leadership will directly influence team morale, discipline, grooming standards, and ultimately the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
As a Supervisor Airport Services – Baggage Services, you will:
- Ensure adequate staffing levels at all times, particularly during peak operational hours, coordinating closely with Resource Allocators when required.
- Coach, motivate, and develop team members through regular feedback, performance evaluations, and structured development plans.
- Maintain high service standards while striving to minimize customer complaints and maximize positive feedback.
- Identify operational gaps or system lapses and recommend corrective actions without compromising on-time performance.
Baggage Services – Specific Duties
This role places strong emphasis on baggage operations, where customer satisfaction is critical. You will oversee the entire baggage arrivals process, including baggage stores, PIR counters, call centers, and delivery counters. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting passengers professionally and promptly with mishandled baggage and ensuring Property Irregularity Reports are raised accurately.
- Coordinating with Customer Affairs, Emirates Airport Services, dnata Airport Services, Group Security, and other departments to resolve baggage issues efficiently.
- Approving interim relief payments in line with baggage compensation policies and ensuring cost-effective baggage delivery within the UAE.
- Ensuring all unclaimed baggage is updated in the WorldTracer System within four hours of arrival and stored securely according to customs and security regulations.
- Monitoring primary baggage tracing activities and minimizing passenger inconvenience before cases are transferred for secondary tracing.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered, candidates must have experience in airport operations. An advantage will be given to applicants with prior supervisory experience in customer services, preferably with a major airline. Additional preferred qualifications include:
- EKAS Leadership Foundation Certificate (internal candidates)
- Valid Aerobridge License (for safety-sensitive gate roles)
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
