Job Role Overview
As an Equipment Operator, you’ll be responsible for operating motorized and technical ground support equipment (GSE) in a safe, efficient manner. This includes loading and unloading baggage and cargo, positioning equipment accurately around aircraft, and supporting airside operations as per airline and safety standards.
From managing carts and dollies to marshalling equipment and supporting aircraft turnaround, your role will be crucial to smooth airport operations. The job demands discipline, attention to detail, and the ability to follow strict procedures to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate various Ground Support Equipment (GSE) based on assigned tasks and training.
- Load and unload cargo and baggage from aircrafts, trucks, and carts in both bulk and unitized formats.
- Inspect assigned equipment to ensure it is in proper working condition.
- Position and move dollies, ULDs, and trollies to support ongoing airside operations.
- Follow all regulatory and operational procedures as per dnata and IATA/ISAGO standards.
- Maintain safe distances from aircraft and comply with all ground safety regulations.
- Report safety hazards and discuss concerns openly with shift leaders.
- Support aircraft turnaround by assisting with baggage marshalling and dead-load handling.
- Be punctual and available on-site for assigned tasks throughout your shift.
Job Requirements
To qualify for this position, candidates should meet the following:
- High school certificate (minimum 10 years of schooling).
- 0 to 2 years of experience in ground support operations (training provided).
- Valid UAE or GCC Driving License (CAT 3 or CAT 4).
- Basic communication and safety awareness skills.
