The role of a Cargo Agent at dnata DWC is a vital part of the company’s cargo operations, ensuring the seamless movement of goods across import and export processes. As a Cargo Agent, you will handle a diverse range of cargo-related tasks, including documentation, customer service, cargo acceptance and delivery, build-up and breakdown operations, equipment operation, and coordination with government authorities. This position demands precision, teamwork, and adherence to international safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute all cargo handling activities efficiently, ensuring compliance with dnata’s standard operating procedures and service level agreements.
- Maintain accuracy in documentation, inspection, and verification of cargo to ensure conformity with shipment criteria and regulatory requirements.
- Operate various ground support equipment such as tow trucks and forklifts to manage the movement of cargo and unit load devices (ULDs).
- Load and unload cargo from aircraft, trucks, and containers promptly to ensure timely operations.
- Support loaders and equipment operators in cargo build-up, breakdown, acceptance, and delivery activities.
- Coordinate with customs, municipality, health, and police departments to facilitate the smooth movement of goods, courier, and mail.
- Ensure the safe handling of special cargo, including dangerous goods, live animals, and valuable shipments, following IATA regulations.
- Report safety concerns promptly and adhere to dnata’s environmental and safety policies to maintain a secure work environment.
- Accurately enter and update cargo information into the system to ensure smooth tracking and documentation.
Qualifications and Skills
To be eligible for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- A High School Certificate (12 years of schooling) or a Diploma in a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in logistics or cargo operations.
- Proficiency in IT systems and good computer literacy skills.
- Strong communication skills in English.
